Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator (PART TIME)

Experienced bookkeeper, with knowledge & experience of XERO software.

Part time - flexible hours available to suit outside work commitments.

Initially circa 20-30 hours per week, to be reviewed as the business & role progress.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper/Payroll professional to join our team.

The successful candidate will have strong accounts, credit control and payroll experience, be able to work independently and have strong IT skills. This is an opportunity to be part of a small team in a young/growing & friendly organisation.

Whilst we employ an external accounting company, we process the incoming/outgoing invoices in house using XERO software.

Duties include:

  • Sales ledger - all invoicing, bookkeeping
  • Purchase ledger/credit control
  • Processing payroll - monthly salaries & pensions calculations & processing
  • Overseeing and managing purchase and sales invoices, bank reconciliation
  • Credit control, monthly CIS return
  • Processing vat returns
  • Dealing with financial paperwork and filing. Including; payroll, payments to suppliers and subcontractors
  • Managing monthly bank reconciliations to XERO and verifying outstanding payments and receipts.
  • General office duties - telephone duties, liaising with clients regarding payments, HR & H&S paperwork, general admin, diary management, filing
  • To be involved in all other accounts/office administration tasks where necessary.

The Successful Applicant must have:

  • Keen team building skills, and friendly manner to engage with existing team.
  • Accounts & XERO experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll
  • Accounting experience.
  • The ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks with good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive effective and efficient financial processes and procedures.
  • Required experience: Accounting: 3-5 years
