The role involves supporting children that have special needs that include Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional Behaviour Disorder (EBD), Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

Are you a Psychology Graduate and want to pursue a career in Child/Education Psychology? Are you an aspiring Case Worker or Criminal Justice Worker, or an Aspiring Music or Art therapist? Have you been thinking about Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Therapy?

This SEN LSA role will place you in a Special Education Needs School where you will be working with some of the most vulnerable children in society. This role is about supporting, guiding and showing them a new way to embrace learning, to value education and preparing them for life out of school.

Empathy and patience are key in this role - the seeds you plant to aid students in their behaviour will often not be apparent, as you will be contributing to what is a long process. There are no magic answers or miracle cures.

Children in the school present with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) often struggling to manage their emotions and behaviour and as a result, they find it difficult to make and sustain relationships with adults and peers.

This is the kind of role that will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and build up a portfolio of work and outstanding experience for further career development.
