We\'re currently looking for an Information Advisor to join the team for a seasonal fixed-term contract until 31st October 2021. This is a part-time role, working 21 hours per week on a rota basis (including weekends).

Our National Park Centre is based in a beautiful part of the South West. Lynton and Lynmouth offers visitors spectacular access to the coast, through wooded combes beside the East Lyn River and is a superb location to base a walking holiday.

To the east is the dramatic Foreland Point, and to the west is the Valley of Rocks. North looks across the Bristol Channel to Wales, and inland offers excellent opportunities for open moorland walking. Not to mention the cliff railway, the UK\'s only fully water powered railway that climbs 500ft up the cliffside, easily connecting the two villages.

You will have the chance to help visitors and locals alike to make the most of their days out and fully enjoy the rich beauty that this thriving, living landscape has to offer.

The Role

As an Information Officer, you will provide advice and guidance to visitors.

You\'ll offer a warm welcome to each person that comes through our doors and tailored advice in line with their interests and needs, including encouraging the use of the exciting interactive displays and activities in the Centre.

Additionally, you will:

- Ensure the Centre is clean, tidy and inviting
- Provide impromptu talks to school, youth and other groups about Exmoor
- Assist with activities including school projects, quizzes and treasure hunts
- Support the daily operation of the Centre, including handling and banking monies, monitoring inventory and ensuring security measures are in place

About You

To join us as an Information Officer, you\'ll need:

- Experience of working with the public in a service capacity
- Previous cash handling experience, including operating a till and reconciling end-of-day takings
- Good IT skills
- Knowledge of the Exmoor area (or the ability to quickly build this knowledge)
- An understanding of National Park purposes and the context in which National Park Authorities operate
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- A helpful, confident and diplomatic manner
