Lead Data Solution Architect (Permanent, Flexible working arrangements)

Location: Working from home during Covid & thereafter Bradford with flexible/remote working arrangements. For the right candidate they are open to minimising travel to Bradford almost compeltely to accomodate.

Salary:Negotiable + Car/Car Allowance + Pension + 25 days holiday

Purpose of the role:

The Lead Data Solution Architect's role is to maximise the value of the organisations data through the understand of business objectives and the exploitation of data and data solutions.

You will be instrumental in employing a wide variety of experience in data platform, integration, visualisation and analysis solutions to deliver business outcomes.

The organisation is committed to creating a robust data and information foundation and capability that underpins strategic objectives for the next 5 years. This role will be a central part of delivering that capability.

What will the role involve:

  • Design the data platform reference architecture based on architecture principles providing appropriate recommendations and advice across the 4 domains: business, data, application and technology.
  • Design to address non-functional requirements including but not limited to cost, agility, elasticity, scalability, availability SLA, fault tolerance, performance, resilience, recovery RTO/RPO, logging, monitoring, audit.
  • Development and implementation of a security model in line with InfoSec and GDPR Polices: including but not limited to access control, threat detection and SEIM integration.
  • Provide architectural solution oversight for the design and implementation of data architecture across one or more business services.
  • Define overarching standards for: Naming; Modelling; Cleansing; Enriching; Transforming; Moving; Storing & Searching
  • Must understand risks and opportunities of how data is/or will be used and its implication on people, processes, and technology. You are accountable to proactively developing this understanding and ensuring stakeholder awareness.
  • Define and implement a data technology roadmap.
  • Define and implement reference, master and meta data and document practises.
  • Define and implement enterprise data models
  • Define a pattern for operational data store and master data
  • Define a pattern for external data sources
  • Define a pattern for unstructured data
  • Define a pattern for big data
  • Define a pattern for IoT and telemetry
  • Define a pattern for real time streaming & analytics
  • Define a pattern for advanced cloud analytics
  • Influence the strategic technology decisions

What skills are we looking for:

  • Proven track record of large scale data driven IT solution delivery in a senior architectural role.
  • Detailed knowledge of integration architectures and technologies.
  • Detailed understanding of conceptual and logical data models and their creations and use in a large organisation.
  • Detailed understanding of enterprise and functional modelling
  • Understanding of architectural roles, domains, methodologies and design strategies.
  • Experience of formal structured methodologies for solution design.
  • Experience of undertaking technical leadership for a team of senior technical roles, providing direction and influence to ensure completion of activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical Skills will include many of the following: Cloud (Azure preferred); Analysis Languages (such as R, Python, Databricks etc); Visualisation (such as visitation tools/BI); Data Capabilities (such as data modelling, database design, Snowflake etc)
