We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part Time Independent Living Co-ordinator working at a Leading Local Authority in Greater Manchester. This is a full-time role for the next 12 months.
The Role
Your role will include you being part of a team who provide supportive, responsive, effective and flexible housing management support to customers across a number of independent Living Schemes. The Independent Living Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maximising independence for older people within a user led environment in line with the Independence and Wellbeing framework and principles.
Duties
To be responsible for all aspects of tenancy management, including voids, repairs, maintenance, allocations, lettings process, customer inductions, rents, aids and adaptations, ASB and challenging behaviour and breaches of occupancy agreements.
To provide advice and to encourage customers to maintain their security and safety and that of their premises whilst assisting them to identify any risks and how these might be managed.
To get to know our customers so that we understand their needs better, so we can build on strengths, providing targeted, individual advice and assistance.
Help us understand what matters to the customer; encourage customer participation and ask for regular feedback about the way their home and services are managed, ensuring our customers are clear about the service offer.
To liaise with our customers, if appropriate, their families to work together to create thriving tenancies with thriving customers.
Ensure customers are clear about, and fully understand, their responsibilities regarding their home, actions, and behaviours.
To encourage, and if needed, assist customers in organising a range of social activities and excursions.
To ensure the successful running of the building and to be a contact for building and property enquiries. To process invoices relevant to the service.
Actively promote partnership working with other agencies and the services they offer, signposting their services to our customers where appropriate and / or assisting our customers to access their services.
To proactively work with other agencies, businesses, the community, and volunteers to promote our service and to develop social opportunities which add value to our customers and members of the wider community.
Carry out any Health and Safety duties as directed by the Independent Living Manager and adhere to Great Place's Health and Safety procedures. Also, to ensure any safeguarding concerns are promptly dealt with and appropriate action is taken.
