Sales and Customer Service Executive - Near Guildford - Full or Part Time

We are looking to recruit a Sales and Customer Service Executive in our Send (Near Guildford) office.

We are RAM Rugby, RAM Cricket & Uber Games, a sports equipment and garden games company based in Surrey. We are a great place to work, and we are looking for a like-minded person to join our friendly team.

Based on the needs of the business we are able to consider full time and part time applications. Full time would be approximately 40 hours a week, and part time would be 20 hours per week. Precise working patterns will be discussed with successful applicants, but there is flexibility and some hours needed at the weekend.

Due to the nature of the business, our roles are predominantly office based. At this current time, we have been abiding by all the Covid legislation and taking all necessary precautions and measures. We are able to temporarily work from home when required.

Our office is ideally accessed via car, due to our location. Unfortunately, public transport isn't particularly frequent.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate great interpersonal skills and a charismatic and helpful style with customers. They will show a hunger to learn, help, and get involved with new tasks and problem solve on a daily basis.

Purpose:

  • To be the first point of contact for Ram Rugby, Ram Cricket & Uber Games, representing our values and ethos at all times.
  • To support our customers with all their queries and issues in a friendly, personal and individual manner while remaining professional.
  • To resolve their queries and issues both accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To develop and close sales across our extensive database.
  • To help the company grow by bringing in customers and developing business within Grass Roots Clubs, Schools and Universities

Responsibilities:

This role will be a mixture of pure customer service support, and sales development. Both aspects are equally important, and work together in harmony. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the customer's experience and growing our business, which includes:

  • Contacting potential or existing customers to seek sales engagement
  • Asking questions to understand customer requirements and to close sales
  • Being responsible for handling and resolving all customer issues and queries and judging the best way to resolve the query, ensuring the customer is happy but also considering the business impact of each decision
  • Ensuring issues and queries are escalated as appropriate and following up as needed to ensure that the query is fully resolved to the customer's satisfaction
  • Working with the company's CRM system to update all key customer data, such as keeping records of calls and sales and noting useful information
  • Taking and processing orders in an accurate manner
  • Ensuring all platforms are up to date with latest delivery timings and stock availability, and keep customer informed of the latest updates
  • Logging issues, queries, ideas to allow reports to be created to support business decision making
  • Providing sales reports as and when required
  • Working as part of the wider team by providing cover when needed

Requirements

  • Experience in sales or customer service roles would be ideal
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills - must be a good listener, and communicator (both verbal and written)
  • A hunger for problem analysis and problem-solving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate innovation and adaptability
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer programs (e.g. CRM software) and telephone systems
  • Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects
  • Cool-tempered and able to handle rejection/difficult situations
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Target driven
