£30,000 - £35,000 , Permanent

Posted: 7 days ago

Description:

Activate Learning are now looking for enthusiastic and inspiring SEND/LLDD teacher to join our Lifeskills team at Banbury College.

The Lifeskills team works to support learners who face substantial barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning.

You will be a subject expert in either GCSE Maths or English and confident in delivering subject specific lessons, including PreEntry - Level 1, to full-time groups via face-to-face teaching delivery, 1:1 intervention, offering pastoral support and mentoring. You will have the responsibility and accountability for the study programme, and you will also deliver employability sessions, such as, sports activities, wellness, and overall life skills tasks.

We currently have a part time (29.5hrs pw) opportunity available on a permanent basis, starting in September 2022.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification or experience. Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification. Unqualified candidates would start at a lower salary point and this could be discussed at interview, if successfully shortlisted.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate resilience and empathy to support students to succeed and encourage them to reach their potential. In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. You will have an open mindset and attitude towards technology and virtual learning tools. Along with current Maths and English skills, you will also demonstrate the ability to engage and develop students and role model the attributes that we develop within our learners.

What are the benefits of this role?

This is challenging and rewarding position and the successful applicant will be making a difference to our students lives whilst working in an extremely supportive team. Activate Learning is proud of the outstanding and award-winning Supported Foundation Programmes which offer students the opportunity to develop in the exciting setting of a mainstream further education college. We have recently been recognised for the work we do to inspire special needs students into employment with a coveted education award.
